Rawai Beach is at the southern tip of Phuket island and is is famous for the Promthep Cape viewpoint. Rawai beach is a scenic Phuket picnicking spot but is not noted as a swimming beach.

Many longtail boats are available for hire that line its shores, where you can arrange a trip to Coral Island, Racha Island,or a fishing or snorkel trip. The beach is also used as a mooring point for the many fishermen who live in the area.

The casuarina tree lined esplanade is perfect for sampling freshly barbequed seafood at the weekend, where there great seafood dining on the seafront.

Rawai is home to same five-star resorts, Mangosteen and Evason and a lot of Phuket's foreign expat population live in the area.
